Serrano is a nice campground on the north shore of the lake - great place to chill out and soak in nature!

Goodwin’s is a terrific market if you don’t feel like driving dth (down the hill) or up to Arrowhead. Their items are about 20% higher than regular markets, but I know they have the overhead of being a market on the mountain. Selection is okay. The meat department? GAK! I can’t bring myself to buy meat there unless it’s packaged from a vendor, such as Farmer John or Swift’s. I’ve only lived here 2 years but discovered the BEST in meats is Johnny’s Market on Waters Drive across from the VOE Post Office. They sell only choice meats and their product has Choice from the markets, Sam’s Club OR Costco beat hands down. Johnny’s also frequently has awesome sales on their meats. For example, Choice Porterhouse Steak for $4.99lb??? They also had Jumbo Black Tiger Shrimp this last summer for $7.99lb that was just to die for. Check them out; you can’t beat Johnny’s meat!

I love Goodwin’s as it is clean with great diverse selection of items. It’s important to remember that it cost additional to transport items to the local area than SB. What a blessing to leave in such a beautiful mountain area.
